Mount Greylock from Hairpin Turn, Route 2

Located at the eastern base of Mount Greylock, Greylock Glen is a 1,063-acre parcel owned by the state. It has been the target of numerous development plans, and Green Berkshires board members have been engaged in successful efforts to preserve the property from inappropriate development for several decades.

Under the most recent development plan, the town of Adams intends to lease part of Greylock Glen, and build trails, an environmental center, a hotel, amphitheater, RV campsites, and parking lots. The remainder of the land will then be annexed to the Mount Greylock State Reservation.

The development proposal has been reviewed by Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act office, and an Environmental Notification Form certificate has been issued.

Green Berkshires is monitoring the next stages of the development plan closely.
